God has given each Christian a unique combination of gifts and talents to equip us for His work. If you are a Christian, you have received gifts from God.
Sometimes it might be hard to figure out what gifts you have been given. All Saints Lutheran Church has adopted the Spiritual Gifts Discovery Survey from Group Inc. to help each congregant evaluate what they are gifted at. Spiritual Gifts Discovery Survey includes the following gifts: Wisdom, administration, hospitality, evangelism, teaching, leadership, helps, encouragement, shepherding, knowledge, giving, discernment, prophecy, intercession, faith, and mercy.
You can fill out the survey HERE.
Once you have completed the survey, in a couple of days you will get your results per email from the Spiritual Gifts Coordinator Marjaana. She will record your top three gifts in the membership database so that the church may be aware of your unique talents.
After taking the survey, the best way for you to learn about your gifts in practice is by just jumping right in! Do something together with the church and find out what you enjoy doing, or are good at. Pray about it and ask for feedback from others. Marjaana or Pastor will be happy to discuss your results and thoughts on serving!
A chart of spiritual gifts in this survey can be found here.
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment,
each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function,
so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them:
if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching;
the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity;
the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Romans 12:3-8
There are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord;
and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
Corinthians 12:4-7
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God;
whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies
—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.
